Rules for minors should be clear before the first session.
Our operating model
- Program coordination for a minor goes through an adult.
- The public application form uses an adult contact; we do not ask a child to provide their own phone number, email or messenger account.
- We do not require public posting of youth projects or personal information.
- Current age requirements are checked before using a specific AI service.
ChatGPT
Under OpenAI's current guidance, ChatGPT is not meant for children under 13; users ages 13–18 require parental or legal-guardian permission. In an educational context for children under 13, the actual interaction with ChatGPT must be conducted by an adult.

What learners practice
AI can be confidently wrong. Youth tracks explicitly teach fact-checking, source quality, privacy, and the distinction between personal contribution and AI assistance.
ChatGPT parental controls for teens
For linked teen accounts, OpenAI offers parental controls for selected settings, quiet hours and limited safety notifications. These controls do not give a parent access to the teen's conversations and are not real-time conversation monitoring.
